While there are delicious grill seasonings on the market, they are so easy to make and customize to your taste, why not make it yourself?


  • 1⁄4 c kosher salt
  • 1⁄4 c black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp granulated garlic
  • 2 Tbsp granulated onion
  • 1 Tbsp cracked coriander seeds


1 Combine ingredients in a small bowl. 

2 Rub onto meat and skin and allow to sit at least one hour before smoking.

Unused portions can be kept in an airtight container for up to 6 months. 

Also try:

Substitute coriander seeds for dehydrated lemon zest and ground fennel seed for a great chicken rub. 

Add ground celery seed for a bright floral flavor.
